The Stage Division consists of three disciplines: Tap, Jazz, and Acrobatic Dance. Each discipline has a syllabus that offers student examinations for all levels of dancers, from beginner to advanced. The Stage Division is represented on the Executive Committee by the Stage Division Chairperson, and the Stage Exam Secretary. The CDTA BC Branch is governed by a constitution that is registered with the Government of British Columbia in Victoria, BC, and all members are bound to uphold the Code of Ethics contained therein. The affairs of the Branch are attended to by the Executive Committee, who are elected from the membership to voluntarily serve in two year terms.

The syllabi and student examinations are available to Members or approved Candidates only. Membership in the Stage Division is by examination only. We currently have two levels of Membership: Associate and Full Member.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Stage Division:

Step 1. Submit your “Application for Membership”. Please download the form, and submit it to the Registrar along with the non-refundable $25.00 application fee. Your application will be presented to the Executive Committee for approval. After your application is reviewed, you will be advised as to your status.

Step 2. Once approved, submit your “Request for Professional Examination”. Download the form and submit it to the Stage Exam Secretary, along with the examination fee. The Stage Exam Secretary will contact you regarding scheduling your examination.

You are also eligible at this point to purchase the desired syllabi. You will find the syllabi helpful in preparing for your exam. Please contact the Stage Exam Secretary regarding order requests.
