Modern60th Anniversary

Welcome to the Modern Division of the CDTA, BC Branch!!

The Canadian Dance Teacher’s Association, BC Branch is pleased to announce the development of a NEW Student Modern Exam Syllabus.

Currently the CDTA, BC Branch is offering an Affiliate/Student Teacher Program, for those young teachers wishing to prepare for their membership with the Modern Division.

The inaugural introduction of the Associate Membership Examination will be January 2008.

Please note, knowledge of the Junior Modern Syllabus, which will be available January 2008, will be a requirement for the Associate Membership Examination.

The Modern Division will offer a unique student examination syllabus for all levels of dancers, from beginner to advanced. The CDTA Modern Syllabus will allow students an opportunity to fine tune their technique and enhance their performance quality. It is comforting to know that the exam sessions are positive and encouraging to both students and teachers

An elected Modern Chairperson serves on the Executive Committee and represents Members of the Modern Division. The affairs of the Branch are attended to by the Executive Committee, who are elected from the membership to voluntarily serve in two-year terms. The CDTA, BC Branch is governed by a constitution and bylaws that is registered under the Societies Act (May 6, 1969) and all members are bound to uphold the Code of Ethics contained therein.

The syllabi and student examinations are available to Members or approved Candidates only. Membership in the Modern Division is by examination only. We currently have three levels of Membership: Affiliate, Associate and Full Member.
